Mindfulness has been shown to be effective for reducing stress in the workplace. NHSGGC is committed to supporting MBSR approaches with staff to enable them to gain skills and knowledge about Mindfulness.
Mindfulness can help you positively change the way you feel about life and how you approach challenges. NHS UK provides an overview to help you develop mindfulness in your your life
We are offering a three stage approach:
Staff will be supported to develop mindfulness habits over a three week period by experienced mindfulness facilitators, who are also NHSGGC staff. This will offer an opportunity to get an initial feel of how mindfulness might be benefit you and explore how mindfulness might fit in to your day.
Staff will meet with the mindfulness tutor online using the Teams programme once a week to discuss their experience. This will also provide an opportunity to explore any challenges encountered and /or how you might build on what are already doing.
We will be offering plenty of resources to support you, as well as opportunities to develop your experience of mindfulness further through stages 2 and 3.
The next block of the Staff Mindfulness programme will commence week beginning Monday 18th August 2025. You can register via Staffnet (the programme is open to all NHS and HSCP employees).

The Chair’s Award of Excellence is an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding achievements, dedication, and innovation demonstrated across our NHSGGC teams.
Consider submitting a nomination, to help recognise teams who go above and beyond to deliver exceptional care, improve services, and make a positive difference for patients, families, and communities.

When filling in your nomination form, don’t forget to put as much detail as you can. Remember, you are telling a judging panel who don’t know the person, team or service you are nominating. Simply saying someone goes above and beyond is not enough detail for the judging panel to score on. Give clear, direct and specific detail. Include enough information for the panel to become familiar with the nominee.
