Primary Care is the front door to healthcare in NHSGGC, providing essential, first‑contact services to more than 1.3 million people across the region. For information, click here.

In order to receive the full range of dental treatment and care under the NHS, you must be registered with a dentist. Your dentist will then provide regular check ups, planned routine treatment and emergency care, if required.

Lifelong Smiles

Regular visits to the dentist are essential to maintaining good oral health and wellbeing. However, we are aware that for some people this can be a source of real anxiety.

To help ease that worry, and to share information on what you can expect at your appointment, we have created a series of videos as part of our Lifelong Smiles programme.

They cover a range of topics from getting to an appointment and what to expect when you get there, to X-rays and alternatives to a general anaesthetic. There are even some simple tips on maintaining good oral health.
