COVID-19 Service Update

During the current COVID-19 pandemic the Government and NHSGGC have introduced policies to keep both you and NHS staff safe to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

All initial appointments for assessment will be by telephone (unless a specific need is identified).

Appointments may last up to 45 minutes as we’ll ask you questions about your condition and health. Everything you tell us is confidential. It’s therefore important that you are able to take the call in a quiet / private area.

After your assessment, we’ll discuss your condition, agree goals and a treatment plan with you. Treatment is likely to include an exercise programme specific to your needs and how you can manage your condition yourself. You’re free to withdraw your consent at any time.

If the physiotherapist recommends a physical face-to-face appointment they’ll discuss this with you, explain the benefits, risks and current health and safety measures in place to help you make an informed decision about whether you wish to attend a department.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s Did Not Attend and Cancellation Policy

If you fail to answer a telephone or video appointment or fail to attend any face-to-face appointment and don’t contact us within 24 hours, we will discharge you.

If you cancel an appointment on more than 2 occasions, we will discharge you.

To cancel or change your appointment please contact your Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy Department with as much notice as possible.
