Parkhead Health & Social Care and Community Hub has received further recognition for its innovative, community-focused design, securing three prestigious awards.
The facility, located in the heart of Glasgow’s East End, has been recognised by architectural and healthcare design experts for its contribution to improving health, wellbeing and sustainability.
Parkhead Hub was named a winner at the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) Awards 2026, Scotland’s national architecture awards programme, which celebrates projects that demonstrate design excellence and deliver positive impacts for communities and the environment.
The Hub also won the Health Building or Project category at the Scottish Design Awards 2026, which recognise the country’s most inspiring and innovative architectural projects.
Adding to its success, Parkhead Hub received international recognition at the European Healthcare Design Awards, where it was named winner of the Design for Neighbourhood Health category and received a Highly Commended award in the Design for Small to Medium-Scale Healthcare Infrastructure category.

Parkhead Hub is Scotland’s largest primary care facility and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s first net zero in operation building. Bringing together a wide range of health, social care, community and voluntary sector services under one roof, the facility was designed to improve access to services while creating a welcoming community destination.
The development includes GP practices, social care services, a pharmacy, community spaces, a café, and a library, helping to strengthen connections between healthcare and the wider community.
These latest accolades build on the Hub’s growing list of achievements, following success at the RICS Awards, Building Better Healthcare Awards, Design for Mental Health Awards and Glasgow Institute of Architects Awards.
The Hub is also the latest milestone in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s wider programme of investment in community healthcare infrastructure, which has delivered seven new health and care facilities across Greater Glasgow and Clyde over the past decade.
Andrew Baillie, Assistant Director of Infrastructure Planning and Delivery at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, said: “We are delighted to see Parkhead Hub continuing to receive recognition from respected national and international judging panels.
“From the outset, the ambition was to create a facility that would do much more than provide healthcare services. We wanted to create a welcoming community asset that brings together health, social care and community services in a way that improves access, supports wellbeing and helps tackle health inequalities.
“These awards recognise the vision, collaboration and commitment of everyone involved in the project, from our staff and partners through to the design and construction teams.
They also reinforce the importance of investing in high-quality public buildings that can make a real difference to people’s lives.”
Alan Wilson, Director of Estates and Facilities at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, said: “Parkhead Hub demonstrates what can be achieved when sustainability, innovation and community need are placed at the heart of healthcare design.
“As our first net zero in operation facility, the building is helping us progress towards our environmental ambitions while providing a modern, accessible and flexible environment for patients, staff and local communities.
“The Hub is part of a significant programme of investment that has seen NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde develop seven new health and care facilities over the past ten years, ensuring our communities have access to high-quality facilities designed to meet changing healthcare needs for decades to come.”
