Help us to manage our waiting lists – if you get a text, please don’t ignore it

  • 2 min read

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is using a text message service to make sure our waiting lists are up to date.

If you are waiting for an Inpatient or Outpatient treatment and you receive a text message, please do not ignore it.

The message will include a link to a few questions to confirm the patient’s identity. People who are answering the survey on behalf of someone else must provide the patient’s details at this stage.

This will be the first in a series of text message exercises in the coming months, and we would urge people to respond if they receive a text. By doing so, you will help us to keep the waiting list up to date, ensure we can provide as early a date as possible for surgery and reallocate outpatient appointments that are no longer needed.

We are aware that many people are worried about scams and clicking on links in unsolicited texts, so we would like to reassure patients that the survey will be carried out in accordance with strict national information governance guidance.

The information gathered will only be used to manage our waiting lists, and all information shared will be kept safe and secure.

If you have any questions, there will be an option to contact us via the message you receive.
