As part of our Transforming Together agenda, the Interface Division will lead the charge to drive change, and help teams adapt to new systems and pathways.
Leanne Connell has been appointed as Chief Nurse for Interface.
Leanne began her nursing career in 1995 at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and has since taken on a diverse range of roles spanning clinical practice, practice development, operational management, and nursing leadership. Her professional journey has been firmly grounded within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, with a strong emphasis on community-based care.
Leanne, said: “I am thrilled to be appointed as Chief Nurse for Interface and the opportunity it presents to lead the way in transforming and developing new care pathways to support our population.
“The creation of the Interface Division provides the opportunity to connect the whole system, and I bring my deep commitment to integrated, person centred care and will work collaboratively with staff across health and social care, third sector partners and our population to ensure safe, high-quality, and compassionate care.”
Neil Ritchie has been appointed as Interface Chief of Medicine.
Neil has been a consultant physician at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for the last nine years working within the infectious diseases and acute medicine departments. Neil has worked in various roles including Lead Clinician for the Initial Assessment Unit, Clinical Director for Medical Services along with a recent role as Interim Clinical Director for the Emergency Department.
Neil said: “I am really excited to take up this role within the Interface Division. As NHSGGC adapts to the demands of the modern NHS, it is vital that we work to join up community and hospital care as effectively as possible to ensure high quality care is available to everyone and avoiding hospital stays whenever possible. I look forward to providing clinical leadership to the service as it develops.”
