You will also get access to a busy timetable of virtual workshops, delivered online, by WW Coaches and a range of further support through the WW smarthphone app.

If you lose 5% of your body weight in this time you’ll be eligible for a further 12 week free membership.

* Covid 19 Update (August 2021) – NHSGGC have been offering, primarily, digital only WW memberships since April 2020. As we begin the process of returning to in-person support we will continue to update our members and referrers on any changes to the service. If you have any questions you can contact our Weight Management Hub on 0141 211 3379.*

The Programme

WW members follow a programme combining healthy eating, physical activity and behaviour change techniques supporting them to lose weight and develop healthy habits.

Your membership through NHSGGC provides you with access to a timetable of local workshops, held in local venues. These workshops are your opportunity to have a Wellness Check In and be weighed each week by your WW coach, who will support your weight loss journey. The workshop also includes an education session, delivered by your coach, which is your opportunity to learn about different elements of your WW plan and ask questions with the support and encouragement of other members. In addition to these local workshops, you will be able to access a busy timetable of virtual workshops delivered online.

Hear from a local WW coach on her weight loss journey and her experience of the virtual workshops  here.

While the virtual workshops are a great opportunity to share with other members, if you do not feel comfortable speaking over Zoom, that’s no problem – you can simply join and listen in to the discussion.

In addition to these local and virtual workshops, you’ll be provided with 16 weeks access to the WW smartphone app which offers the following:

  • Tracking of  diet/ physical activity/ sleep
  • Over 5000 recipes
  • Equipment-free workouts
  • Social community – 24/7 access to a coach
  • Rewards – gain points to unlock prizes

WW coach, Michelle explains what support is available through WW’s virtual workshops and smartphone app.

We think you’ll love being a part of WW, but don’t just take our word for it. Why not check out our Success Stories page below to hear about the experiences of some members who were referred through the Community Weight Management Service.

Our flyer here provides a bit more information on what to expect at a normal face-to-face WW workshop, which we hope will resume in the not too distant future.
