NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has appointed a new Director of Interface to help lead the redesign and transformation of services to improve access, outcomes and experience for patients.
Lorraine Cowie will manage the Interface Division which will be at the centre of our Transforming Together agenda.
She will ensure there is a clear focus on the effective and efficient delivery of all clinical and non-clinical services, in line with the Board’s strategic priorities. She will provide strong and effective leadership in the planning coordination, development and delivery of change and improvement across the interface space between primary and secondary care in NHSGGC. Lorraine will take up her post in the coming months.
Lorraine joins NHSGGC from NHS Highland, where she was Head of Strategy and Transformation and had more recently been seconded to the Scottish Government as the Professional Lead for Health Planning and Sustainability.
In this role, Lorraine was responsible for developing sustainable solutions for clinical services across NHS Scotland. Prior to this Lorraine has held a number of leadership roles at local, regional and national levels since beginning her career in 1997 at Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin.
She said: “I am delighted to be appointed as Director of Interface of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
“This is an exciting time to be joining NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to lead on developing new virtual approaches and pathways to support our population in their own homes.
“I am committed to collaborative working with our staff, Health and Social Care Partnerships, primary care, third sector organisations and our population in finding new ways to transform services together ensuring that safe, high quality, compassionate care is maintained.”
Professor Jann Gardner, NHSGGC Chief Executive, said: “I would like to congratulate Lorraine on her appointment to this important Director of Interface role, and we look forward to welcoming her to GGC in the coming months.
“It truly is an exciting time to be joining NHSGGC as we launch our bold, system-wide improvement programme, Transforming Together, to transform unscheduled and planned care, and Lorraine’s appointment signals a significant step forward in this.
“I look forward to working closely with her as we strive to achieve our goals and make a positive impact on our healthcare system.”
