Inverclyde Royal Hospital to begin J North improvement works

  • 2 min read

Inverclyde Royal Hospital has begun a significant programme of planned improvement works to upgrade its J North medical receiving ward.

Around £250,000 is being invested in upgrading sanitary systems, ensuites, and replacing automatic fire detectors.

Improvements will also be made to the nurses’ station and doctors’ room.

The work will help to enhance patient care and staff facilities within the hospital.

During the refurbishment period, J North will be temporarily closed, with arrangements made for patients to be accommodated in another area of the hospital, ensuring there is continuity of care and minimal disruption to both patients and staff.

Iona Scott, Interim Director of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s Clyde Sector, which includes the IRH, said: “These improvement works at our J North ward are a welcome investment, and will benefit both patients and staff.

“By upgrading the ward environment, we are making the space more efficient and comfortable for patients, while improving working conditions for our healthcare professionals.

“This reflects our ongoing commitment to Inverclyde Royal Hospital and the people we care for.”

No hospital services will be impacted by the temporary arrangements in place while the work is carried out.
