Latest Roadworks, Transport and Adverse Weather conditions.

Roadworks can cause delays for patients, visitors and staff travelling to our sites. Information will be posted here for major planned roadworks we have been made aware of.

The websites below also provide more information on roadworks that may have an impact on your journey. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde are not responsible for the content of external sites.

Current and forthcoming roadworks

Commonwealth Games 2026

The Commonwealth Games are being held in Glasgow from 23rd July until 2nd August 2026. Although on a smaller scale than the previous event held in Glasgow, roads and public transport are likely to be busier during the Games across Glasgow, particularly around venues. M8 Kingston Bridge works

Overnight roadworks/road closures continue to take place on the Kingston Bridge and surrounding approach roads of the M8 motorway. Information on current and planned works is available from Amey.

Dumbreck Road roadworks from 9th June 2026

Glasgow City Council will be carrying out carriageway repairs, and active travel improvements, on Dumbreck Road at Lochinch Road from 9th June 2026. This will also involve restrictions for the on and off slip roads for junction 1 for the M77.

Bus service changes – 12th July 2026

From 12th July 2026 there are changes being made to a number of services across our area.

McGill’s Buses are making changes to a number of their services, including services 21 and 23 that serve Queen Elizabeth University Hospitals. In addition, a new service linking Queen Elizabeth University Hospital from Clydebank, via Braehead Shopping Centre, will be introduced. SPT are making changes to a number of services across their supported bus network. This includes services serving Gartnavel Hospitals and Stobhill Hospitals. More information is available from SPT.

First Bus are making changes to the services below;

  • The introduction of evening services from Mounblow to Gartnavel Hospitals on service 11/11a
  • New service, 141, linking Partick Bus Station to Gartnavel Hospitals
  • New service 128, linking Glasgow City Centre to Stobhill Hospital.

Vale of Leven Hospital to Royal Alexandra Hospital bus service

NHSGGC provide a bus linking Vale of Leven and Royal Alexandra Hospital for staff, patients and visitors. The timetable for the service is available here. More information on this service is available at our news page.
