Keeping Contact Details Up to Date

It is important that the Assisted Conception Service can contact you when needed regarding your treatment or any eggs, sperm, or embryos that may be in storage.

By law, eggs, sperm or embryos cannot remain in storage beyond the consented storage period. If we are unable to contact you before your consent expires, we may not be able to discuss renewal of consent with you, and your stored material may need to be disposed of in accordance with the law.

You are responsible for informing the Centre if your contact details or personal circumstances change.

If you receive any communication from us about your stored eggs, sperm or embryos it is important you respond as soon as possible.

Changes you must inform us about
  • Change of address
  • New telephone number
  • Change of email address
  • Change of name
  • Change in marital or relationship status
  • Any other change that may affect how we contact you

Why is it important to keep your contact details up to date?

Keeping your details up to date helps ensure that we can contact you about:

  • Your ongoing treatment
  • Important information relating to stored eggs, sperm, or embryos
  • Consent reviews
  • Any actions or decisions regarding your stored eggs, sperm or embryos

It helps to ensure we can contact you regarding important matters such as treatment, storage of reproductive material (eggs, sperm and embryos), or consent renewal.

Why this matters?

We may need to contact you about important decisions relating to your treatment or the continued storage of your eggs, sperm, or embryos.

If we cannot contact you because your details are out of date, this may affect the options available to you.

If we are unable to contact you before your consent expires, we may not be able to discuss renewal of consent with you, and your stored eggs, sperm or embryos may need to be disposed of in accordance with the law.

How to update your details

If your contact details change, please contact the Assisted Conception Service as soon as possible so your records can be updated.

You can do this by contacting the Centre using the details provided here:  Contact Us
