Get your flu vaccine before the winter campaign ends

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is urging anyone who is eligible for the flu vaccine but has not yet received it to come forward before the winter vaccination campaign draws to a close on 31 March 2026.

There is still time to get protected. If you have missed your scheduled appointment, or if the time offered didn’t suit, you can attend any of our community drop‑in clinics running daily throughout March. No appointment is needed; simply turn up and speak to the team.

NHSGGC Interim Director of Public Health, Dr John O’Dowd, said:

“Flu can be a serious illness, particularly for those most at risk. While warmer temperatures and lighter days are approaching, the flu virus is still circulating in our communities, and vaccination remains the best protection for eligible groups.

“We would also encourage people to check in with their loved ones who may be eligible, in case they have missed their appointment or are unsure about attending. If they have any questions, our staff at the drop‑in clinics are on hand to help.”

The flu vaccine helps protect individuals, families, and the wider community — especially those at higher risk of severe illness. With easy access through local drop‑ins and no need to book, NHSGGC is encouraging everyone eligible to take up the offer as soon as possible.

The flu vaccine is offered to adults who are most at risk of getting seriously ill from flu.

People eligible for the flu vaccination:

  • aged 65 and over
  • aged 18 to 64 with an eligible health condition
  • pregnant
  • living in a long-stay residential care home or other long-stay care facility
  • working in a care home for older adults
  • living with someone who has a weakened immune system
  • an unpaid or young carer
  • a frontline health or social care worker
  • a non-frontline NHS worker
  • a poultry worker or bird handler
  • an asylum seeker living in a home office hotel or B&B accommodation
  • experiencing homelessness or substance misuse
