Indirect immunofluorescence (IIF): Introduction of electronic result entry

 To reduce manual transcription errors we are pleased to introduce a new software package for our IIF assays, effective from 20th February 2023. There will be no changes to the assays or reporting protocols and no changes to the way these tests are requested. However the final report for antinuclear antibodies (ANA) and tissue antibodies (includes gastric parietal cell and liver autoantibodies) will look different:

• ANA report (IIF on HEp-2 cells): ANA screen and titration now consolidated into one report. 
• Tissue autoantibodies report (IIF screen for liver and gastric parietal antibodies): mitochondrial antibody titration results now consolidated into one report alongside the other tissue autoantibodies.
