We’re delighted to share that the introduction of rapid Point of Care Testing (POCT) for High Sensitivity Troponin at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) has been recognised with the Innovation Award at the Chief Scientific Officer’s Awards 2026. These awards aim to recognise and celebrate the outstanding skills, innovation, and impact of healthcare scientists across Scotland. This work, delivered by the South Sector POCT Team, the Emergency Department at QEUH and the West of Scotland Innovation Hub, is already improving patient care by supporting faster, safer assessment for people presenting with chest pain. Congratulations to the South Sector POCT Team, along with Dr Faheem Ahmad, Dr Andrew Saunders and all colleagues involved. The project has also expanded to a second site within NHSGGC recently, Glasgow Royal Infirmary 👏 Read more about the original work here:🔗 www.nhsggc.scot/queen-elizabeth-university-hospital-first-in-scotland-to-introduce-rapid-point-of… See MoreSee Less
