A celebration of excellence in Obstetrics and Gynaecology training

  • 2 min read

We are delighted to share that the QEUH has been recognised as one of the best Obstetrics and Gynaecology training units in the UK in the 2026 RCOG (Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists) Training Evaluation Form (TEF) Awards.

Out of 169 units nationally, our trainees ranked us among the very best – a fantastic achievement and a real testament to everyone who contributes to training and education across our department.

We are incredibly proud to have received:

  • Winner for the Overall and Gynaecology Award
  • Highly commended for the Professional Development and Obstetrics Award in the large hospitals category.

The RCOG assesses units across a broad range of areas, including educational supervision, local and regional teaching, obstetrics and gynaecology training, professional development, clinical governance, wellbeing, the working environment and overall training experience.

To be recognised across so many areas is something we should all be incredibly proud of.

Most importantly, this achievement reflects the hard work of our consultants, trainees, educational and clinical supervisors, midwives, theatre and clinic teams, administrative colleagues and everyone who helps create a positive learning environment. Congratulations to everyone who has played a part in making the department such a fantastic place to train.
