About The Family Wellbeing Hub

How We Support You

When you attend the Family Wellbeing Hub, you will meet our Health Improvement Senior, who will support you through a 1:1 Family Wellbeing Support Needs Assessment. This is:

  • A safe, supportive space
  • Led by you and what matters to your family
  • A chance to talk openly about what is going on at home, school, or in your child’s life
  • A place where you will be listened to without judgement

Together, we will:

  • Explore your concerns, worries and strengths
  • Understand your child’s needs in a neuroaffirming way
  • Agree a support plan that feels right for you

You don’t need to have the “right words” — we will go at your pace.

Your Support Plan

Your support plan may include:

  • Practical strategies to support behaviour, emotions or routines
  • Support around school challenges (including EBSNA) need to explain what this is even though also explained below
  • Understanding neurodiversity and your child’s needs
  • Help with your own wellbeing as a parent/carer
  • Advice on what support is available and how to access it

Learning & building confidence

You can also attend workshops and training (online or face-to-face), including:

  • Trauma-informed parenting
  • Neurodiversity awareness
  • Emotionally Based School Non‑Attendance (EBSNA)
  • Self-harm and suicide prevention
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • Screen time and sleep support

These are designed to give you practical tools you can use at home or school

If additional support is helpful…

With your consent, we can connect you to the right services so you don’t have to navigate this alone.
This may include support from:

  • Children 1st / Parentline
  • Differabled (neurodiversity support)
  • Carers services
  • Community Links Workers / GP supports
  • Education services / Educational Psychology
  • Third sector mental health & trauma supports (e.g. With Kids, self-harm support networks)

You can find more about these services on our page ‘Additional Support for Parents and Carers’.
We can also provide information on NHS services such as CAMHS, and help you communicate with them if necessary. Please note we cannot influence your access to, or position on the waiting list for NHS services.

You are not alone

You can join our Parent/Carer Peer Support Group, alongside our parent/carer peer support volunteers Shona and Amanda, & Emma our group facilitator, where you can:

  • Meet other parents who understand what you’re going through
  • Share experiences in a safe, supportive space
