Hospital visiting

To maintain the safety of patients, visitors and staff, visiting still needs to be carefully managed. In most cases, visiting can be arranged by contacting the ward directly and arranging a suitable time to visit, however, in some hospitals/wards further restrictions are in place. Current information and guidance can be found on the Patients, Hospital Appointments and Visiting page.

Information for Patients, Carers & Visitors

It can be very stressful when your child is unwell. We know that there is a huge amount of information available at your fingertips, but finding something that provides clear and accurate information is not always easy!

The resources on the Royal Hospital for Children Glasgow (RHCG) website/app have been developed with our multi-disciplinary team to help ensure you can find everything you need to know about your child coming to hospital (including how to get here and finding your way around), as well as providing up to date, quality information on common health conditions and what to do in an emergency.

It also includes age specific information for teenagers and young people and is closely linked with our NHS GGC KIDS website, to help provide you with the information you need to manage your child’s health.

Our parent and young people advice has been developed in partnership between our hospital medical staff and primary care colleagues and adapted with permission from the Healthier Together initiative. You’ll find information on common childhood illnesses, including advice on ‘red-flag’ warning signs to look out for, when and where to seek help and how to keep your child comfortable. Our information is regularly reviewed by our team to make sure we are giving you accurate and up-to-date advice.
